I’ve been in the role of CEO for Real Estate Industry Partners (REIP) for 3 years now, and since then, our collective contributions have seen us take some smart and strategic steps forward to strengthen our Australian real estate industry.
I thought now was a great time to re-iterate the core purpose of REIP and look back on our collective achievements so far.
Who is Real Estate Industry Partners (REIP)?
REIP is a membership-based advocacy organisation, founded by key real estate industry leaders from franchise and independent networks. We firmly believe that if we all work together as an industry, we are stronger and better able to take control of our long-term future success.
As an organisation, REIP has identified 6 key pillars of success that we use to guide all of our decisions and activities. They include:
Collaboration – we have a whole of industry approach
Relevance – within our industry and with our clients
Leadership – we lead for everyone
Profitability – secure the financial health of our industry
Wellbeing – focus on the mental and emotional health of our industry
Professional Standards – continuous improvement of our people
I think most of us would agree that as an industry, we have been fragmented for many years.
Unfortunately, this has led to us becoming dependent on third party vendors to operate our businesses, and by extension vulnerable to the decisions those businesses make.
In an ideal world, real estate leaders would be working together for the success of the industry and leaving the competing to our agents.
What do we do?
Since inception, we have cultivated a thriving membership base of real estate professionals from all across the country.
We listen to what our members have to say about their challenges and have adopted a collaborative industry approach to delivering fit for purpose solutions across legislation, products and services.
Some of our key deliverables so far include:
1. Industry owned Comparative Market Analysis (CMA) tool
REIP has collaborated 50/50 with Valocity to build REIP Nexus, the first industry owned CMA that features not just current data, but also more diverse data sets than other CMAs.
Thanks to our partnerships with Propic and RateMyAgent and our own industry data with REIP Nexus, real estate professionals can access live listings on the market, leased and sold data, settlement information, market share and agent performance insights.
2. Ecosystem of industry products and services
We have assembled a diverse collection of real estate product and service providers under the banner of the REIP ecosystem of solutions.
These providers have been ‘tried and tested’ by REIP and many also offer exclusive discounts for REIP members.
We have just finalised an integration with VaultRE and are working with other suppliers to expand our current ecosystem.
Our goal is to build an industry ecosystem that provides you with the option of the best products to market at the best price.
3. Key Industry Partnerships
A few weeks ago, we announced an MOU with REIA. We believe it is critical that two national industry bodies join forces to advocate on what our industry feels is best for us now, and in the future.
Our People
Aligned with our pillar of collaboration, we have a cross section of real estate representatives that sit behind the REIP logo.
Earlier this year we appointed Andrew Friebe as our Head of Partnerships. He has been kept busy talking to brands and agents about our CMA and insights products, our partnerships and our membership benefits.
